The Faceless Men

The Faceless Men

It all started as an illustration for an essay Andrew Lazarow wrote for the "ADJACENT" (NYU's ITP and IMA Journal of emerging media). In this paper, he compares current president Donald Trump with business man P.T. Barnum "The prince of Humbug". In the article, one of the things that caught my attention was the idea of the press and how manipulated or misinformed it can become. This lead to me think about the idea of this characters without faces that are highly influenced by the newspapers - and in media in general- but have no control or opinions on their own. I called this series "The Faceless Men".
